Rachael’s half marathon goal and a PB

We are excited to share with you a long-term goal that was achieved by one of our clients, Rachael.

Living with rheumatoid arthritis, Rachael set herself the challenging goal of running a half marathon in under 2 hours.

The team

Working alongside our skilled Physiotherapist, Kristy and Exercise Physiologist, Brendan – she would have to overcome her inflammatory condition, manage musculoskeletal injuries, fatigue, and vision impairment in one eye.

But everyone was on board!

The plan

Kristy and Brendan dedicated their efforts to design a targeted resistance program that prioritised Rachael’s strength training routine – focusing on enhancing muscular strength and endurance.

By following this plan, Rachael’s running improved, minimising her risk of injury and ultimately enhancing her overall performance.

The outcome

Rachael crossed the finish line in 1 hour and 58 minutes!!!!

In her own words, Rachael said, “I can’t thank Kristy and Brendan enough for helping me get to the start line in one piece, so I could have the race of my life!”

We couldn’t be happier for you, Rachael! This was a huge team effort.
