Home Modifications

What we do

Working with our team, Home Modifications allow you to achieve greater independence and quality of life.

Home modifications might help you to fit more comfortably with your environment, maintain your safety or to successfully undertake activities of daily living. One example is installing a chair lift if you are unable to climb the stairs to the second floor of your home. Another example is adding grab rails to the bathroom or other walls to provide support during functional mobility and self-care activities. Modifications are categorised into minor or complex under the NDIS framework.

Minor home modifications to allow for improved home access and safety may include:

  • Chairlifts
  • Handheld showers
  • Grab rails
  • Handrails
  • Threshold ramps
  • Level shower access

Complex home fit-outs aimed at making your home more suited to your needs may include:

  • Structural changes
  • Bathrooms fit-outs
  • Kitchen fit-outs
  • Hoists
  • Lifts

If you experience difficulties performing certain tasks, it’s possible that home modifications could improve your environment and help you overcome your problems. Your Occupational Therapist completes an assessment to determine the nature of home modifications you may need in alignment with your goals.

Our Occupational Therapists work with you to identify, arrange and train you on how to use the home modifications that meet your specific needs and goals.
