Home modifications might help you to fit more comfortably with your environment, maintain your safety or to successfully undertake activities of daily living. One example is installing a chair lift if you are unable to climb the stairs to the second floor of your home. Another example is adding grab rails to the bathroom or other walls to provide support during functional mobility and self-care activities. Modifications are categorised into minor or complex under the NDIS framework.
Minor home modifications to allow for improved home access and safety may include:

If you experience difficulties performing certain tasks, it’s possible that home modifications could improve your environment and help you overcome your problems. Your Occupational Therapist completes an assessment to determine the nature of home modifications you may need in alignment with your goals.
