Occupational Therapy

What we do

Our Occupational Therapists (OT’s) work with you in your preferred environment to support you to safely carry out everyday tasks, restore your confidence and rebuild skills.

Our team is focused on supporting you to live more independently and engage in your community.

When you work with an OT from Recovery Station, it’s like a partnership. Your OT will help you to identify your goals and motivations and then develop recommendations as part of your ongoing therapy plan.

OT recommendations may include:

  • Adapting the environment (aids, equipment & home modifications)
  • Modifying the task
  • Skill development or re-training
  • Educating those around you including families and carers

This approach means that you will be supported in improving your ability to participate in everyday activities. These may include personal care, getting back into your community, volunteering, cooking, shopping, engaging in social events, starting or rejoining the workforce and perhaps taking care of yourself and others.
